10 New Year's Eve party décor ideas

Taylor Joseph is a creative interior decorator who takes pride in her ability to transform beautiful spaces with a mix of traditional, eclectic, bohemian and contemporary elements. Always looking for the thrill of the find, she brings distinct ideas and remarkable inspirations to life by crafting and repurposing everyday items. I met Taylor this year through a business course we both took. She told me about how she plans to use her well-trained eye for quality craftsmanship, furnishings, and textiles to launch her own business in early 2018, called Taylor Faye Interiors. Taylor plans to use her company to offer, "timeless styles through an online boutique with a selectively curated collection of unique, vintage, and modern décor items - including custom made designs for your home," she says. I have been planning a New Year's Eve party and I knew Taylor would be the perfect person to ask for décor ideas, and guess what?! She's letting me share them with you!

Here are 10 New Years Party Décor Ideas by Taylor Joseph, founder of Taylor Faye Interiors:

1. Dress up your table | @clacali1

"Embellish your table runner with a splash of ornaments in glass vases and flutes as centrepieces. Use cloth napkins with dazzling rings, your finest dinnerware, and chargers to make a bold statement for your dinner guests."

2. Over the top décor | @crateandbarrel

"Add a touch of New Year’s throughout your home with maximalist décor! Hang colourful pompoms, ornaments, and tassels with monofilament from the ceiling to fill the scene. There is always room for more."

3. Glitz and Glamour | @mydecoballoon

"Use silver, white, and gold balloons for a classic New Year’s look. The more, the better! You can never have too much bling!"

4. Stop and Selfie Wall | @chicfromchicago "For an Instagram worthy photo, tape a variety of different sized balloons, circle punched metallic paper, or pinwheel party fans to your wall for a show stopping pit stop!"

5. Shimmer and Shine Drink ware | @glasssthatglitters

"Get your best and brightest glasses and flutes for the champagne. You can also give your usual drink-ware a sparkly twist with spray adhesive and loose glitter."

6. Garland and Bunting | @beaudecor

"Staircases, mantles, and doorways are a good way to add eye-catching garland and bunting. Use a circle hole punch or cut squares and triangles to string together leftover wrapping paper or craft paper to make your own."

7. Countdown | No Photo Credit

"Gather clocks as well as hourglasses on the mantel and wrap tinsel around cardboard numbers for a countdown your guests can't miss!"

8. Resolution | @kayla_averitt_19

"Allow your guests to get the conversation started with a chalkboard wall to write down New Year’s resolutions!"

9. Party Props | @ushistore

"Don't forget about noisemakers, party hats, tiaras and New Year’s glasses! Display them on trays lined with leftover wrapping paper or spray painted for an added touch. Your guests will get bedazzled into grabbing one!"

10. Light up the Bar

"Drinks will be flowing over the course of the evening so make sure your guests know where to go for a refresher. Opt for fairy lights and neon lighting for an added feature to your bar trolley."
